CSE Inventory System

Status of CSE systems/network:

We use Nagios, Munin and MRTG for keeping track of the state of our servers and network. You can login using your CSE LDAP ID. Currently only faculty and sysads can log in.

We have four LDAP servers currently running. You can browse them using phpLDAPadmin at https://ldaps.cse.iitb.ac.in/. All our servers support anonymous bind.

For usage in address books (such as in Thunderbird), you can use ldap://ldaps.cse.iitb.ac.in. This server is read-only and does not support authentication.

For authentication, please use the four main servers:

All four require TLS (not LDAPS) for authentication (and any activity involving passwords).
The CA certificate for these servers are located at: https://www.cse.iitb.ac.in/cse-cacert.pem

Most, if not all, our web servers use and support HTTPS. Some, like the Nagios, Bugzilla and LDAP servers use only HTTPS. They use certificates signed using our self-signed CA certificate. Our LDAP servers use STARTTLS, not LDAPS, also using the same CA certificate.

Consult the guide to see how to add this certficate to your browsers to avoid certficate errors when browsing the CSE website on HTTPS.

Repositories and Mirros

We mirror repositories of Ubuntu 14.04 and Arch Linux (binaries only), available for internal access only. The respective URLs are:
  1. http://mirror.cse.iitb.ac.in/ubuntu
  2. http://mirror.cse.iitb.ac.in/archlinux
We also have a department repository, used for hosting software that are installed in the lab systems, but not available in the official Ubuntu repositories. It is hosted at repo.cse.iitb.ac.in, and is available via HTTP, HTTPS and FTP. The signing key is available at repo.cse.iitb.ac.in/cse-repo-key.gpg.
